Network technician with a passion for signal and code

I am an IT & network technician and open-source developer. My core work is support and on-site problem solving for clients — I approach every task professionally, with focus on getting it done correctly and reliably.

I specialise in MikroTik network technologies, DVB satellite reception and IPTV & streaming technologies. Most of my time, though, goes into open-source development — from Headent Client, a native Android app in Kotlin, to Python plugins for Enigma2, Kodi and ArchivCZSK.

I enjoy connecting the worlds of hardware, networks and software into one working whole. Every new experience moves me forward — there is no problem that cannot be solved.

From satellite signal reception through the network to playback on the end device — I cover the whole chain and the software that holds it together.

Network technologies

Design, configuration and maintenance of networks on the MikroTik RouterOS platform — CAPsMAN for centralised Wi-Fi, WireGuard VPN, VLAN segmentation, routing and resolving STP loops. Focus on stability, security and clear documentation.

Satellite reception (DVB)

Reception and processing of satellite signal in the DVB-S2/S2X standards — from the dish and LNB through transponder tuning to stream processing and EPG. Hands-on experience with the common European satellite positions.

IPTV & streaming

Streaming technologies built around Tvheadend and ErsatzTV. Creating and maintaining M3U playlists, HLS streams, XMLTV EPG and transcoding via FFmpeg for smooth playback across devices.

Software development

Developing open-source apps and plugins. A native Android app in Kotlin / Jetpack Compose for TV boxes and phones, Python plugins for Enigma2, Kodi and ArchivCZSK, plus PHP web tools for network monitoring and ISP customer management. CI/CD via GitHub Actions.
